Russian Hill School celebrates “Circo de Mayo” for the 2012 Fundraising Auction

Circo de Mayo Weekly

Look out for our Circo de Mayo Weekly emails. These emails will be full of auction-related “must know” information. We will be featuring some of the amazing auction items that will be available to bid on at the event or in our online auction. Look out for Circo de Mayo Weekly in your inbox.

Underwriting

As the Auction is the school's primary fundraiser, there are several ways you can participate. In addition to donating items and attending the Auction, you can help make “Circo de Mayo” come to life for Russian Hill School and its students by making a gift to help underwrite our “Circo de Mayo” 2012 Auction.

As you can imagine, offering an evening of fun and bidding is costly, that is why we are asking for your support. Circo de Mayo helpers will be acknowledged as 2012 Auction Underwriters in the Auction Catalog and go far in helping us reach our goals.

There are various levels of underwriting support. Help make “Circo de Mayo” come to life! Make your gift today.

Once the event is over, you will find your clearly marked envelope and/or bag of items that were purchased and walk out the door. It is that easy!

Delivery of any large items will be coordinated the night of the event.

Tasty Treats and Drink Menu

What’s on the menu for Circo de Mayo? We will be passing champagne cocktails as well as a fabulous selection of wines. There will also be a cash bar for other cocktails.

Silent Auction

The Silent Auction will be open from 7:00 to 8:30pm. This year, our Silent Auction items will be available to preview online (url to be distributed) at our online Preview Catalog starting on May 1th. All items in the Silent Auction have bid sheets affixed nearby the item display.  The bidder must print his or her bid number and amount on the bid sheet. (You will receive a bid number at check in.)  A bid constitutes a binding agreement to buy the specified item. All bids must start with the minimum amount indicated on the bid sheet, and each bid increase must follow the minimum increment stated.  Bidding must stop when the Silent Auction section is declared closed.  At the close of the Silent Auction, an auction official will circle the highest bid. In addition, some Silent Auction items will have a “Guaranteed Purchase” price listed on the bid sheet.  If a bidder exercises this option, the section will close immediately.  In the event of a dispute, the Auction Committee shall have sole and final discretion in determining the winning bidder.

There will be some amazing items to bid on in the Silent Auction, including the popular Development Committee and P’s Committee Baskets, fabulous wine, spectacular children’s art, date night packages and more.

Buy In Parties

One of the most popular items in our Silent Auction are our Buy In Parties. These are donated by RHS families as well as RHS Faculty. These Buy In Parties are all fixed-priced tickets.

Fixed Price Tickets

Parties/Events with fixed price tickets will have a fixed price with fixed number of tickets. These tickets will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please take note of Buy In Party dates which have already been scheduled. If a date has not been set, or is subject to change, there will be a clear note next to the RHS Buy In Party description and sign up sheet.

Live Auction

Live Auction items may be viewed in our online Preview Catalog that will be available on May 1th (url will be distributed) and also in our printed catalog the night of the event. Every year the Live Auction includes a collection of amazing donated items (homes, getaways, event tickets) as well as the one of a kind student art projects. The Live Auction will begin at 8:45pm. All bidders must have a bid number (you will receive a bid number at check in). Bidders raise their bid paddles (provided at registration) to make bids. In the Live Auction, the purchaser is the highest bidder acknowledged by the Auctioneer. Certain items may have a reserve price. In the event of a dispute, the Auctioneer will have sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the item in dispute. The decision of the Auctioneer will be final. The winning bidder should continue to hold his or her number aloft until the winning bid has been recorded.

Fund A Need

At the end of our Live Auction, our Fund A Need bidding will begin. This will give everyone an opportunity to raise their paddle to help support specific “needs”. By raising our paddles we can fund the little things that can help make Russian Hill School the special oasis that it is for our children.

Wine Vault Raffle

This year’s wine vault raffle, is an amazing selection of fabulous wines for the true wine connoisseur. Tickets are on sale now. You can purchase either 1 ticket for $25 or 5 tickets for $100. Email Janice Butler to purchase tickets at jncbtlr@yahoo.com. Don’t worry, we will be selling even more raffle tickets the night of the event.

First & Final Bidder iPad Raffle

Be the “first” bidder for a Silent Auction item, or better yet, items, or be the “final” bidder…or better yet, be BOTH, and your name will be entered to win our final raffle drawing of the evening. By being the first and/or final bidders for our Silent Auction items you could be the lucky winner of an Apple iPad. Get to the event on time, and sign up for your auction items. Listen for the final call of the Silent Auction closing, and sign your name up again to be the final bidder, and you will win your auction item, and the chance to win an Apple iPad.

RHS Photos

Once again, we will be selling the annual RHS photo that features every child’s beautiful black and white photo.

Fill in the Bricks

Russian Hill School's "Fill in the Bricks" backyard mosaic wall is underway. Help "fill in the bricks" by purchasing a brick. Each brick is engraved with a special inscription memorializing a child's (or children's) years at RHS. The proceeds from each brick purchase of $250 go towards the RHS Growth & Development Fund. Both current and alumni families welcome!
