Metamorphous is a recurrent summertime theme at Russian Hill School. As our latest batch of "Graduate" children prepare to move on to their respective Elementary School programs in the Fall, we annually raise and release butterflies to symbolically send them on their way; fully prepared to 'fly' without looking back.

Multiple process painting techniques were used for this theme - specific arts activity to build upon children's individual holistic development. The project encouraged eye-hand coordination and pre-math patterning understandings. 

We are lucky to have such beautiful art this year by the entire RHS student community that is featured on wonderful gift items. These make unique holiday gifts for friends and family or use the cards for thank you notes after the holidays. The 'Annual Butterfly Creations' project was lead by Teacher Bonnie.  All proceeds go to Russian Hill School to help our fundraising efforts to make RHS the amazing school that it is. Variety Butterfly Pack of Cards:  Set of cards that features all of the students' butterfly art. There are 2 each of 5 versions that all 40 of the students butterflies for $20. This set includes 10 5x7 folded cards and envelopes.

2010 Butterfly Calendar: 12 month calendar that includes all of the student butterfly artwork and a description of the project process for $22. This is a 8 1/2x11 wall calendar.

Butterfly Puzzle: 48-piece puzzle that features all 40 student butterflies for $25. The puzzle is 8 1/4x113/4 inches in size and comes in a box with a picture of the puzzle on the front.
